The Position
We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant - Fixed Assets to join our rapidly growing accounting team. The ideal candidate is a motivated team player with strong attention to detail, cost and fixed asset accounting expertise, and strong organizational and system skills. This role will be based in Irving, TX, supporting all aspects of construction and fixed asset accounting for the development of a new high-performance computing (HPC) facility and our broader data center infrastructure.
This position will report to the Senior Manager of Operational Accounting and will play a vital role in managing capital project costs, construction-in-progress (CIP) accounting, fixed asset capitalization, and transformation of our fixed asset processes. You will partner with Finance, Development, Engineering, Procurement, Operations, Corporate Accounting, FP&A, and Tax to ensure accurate financial reporting, cost tracking, compliance, and system integration throughout the project lifecycle and ongoing operations.
Additionally, the Senior Accountant will be directly involved in identifying and executing process improvements, implementing stronger internal controls, and transforming legacy asset tracking systems. Candidates with experience in capital-intensive, high-tech, or data center environments are preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Drive fixed asset transformation by implementing scalable and automated processes, with linkage across systems such as Coupa and D365.
  • Create and enhance fixed asset and CapEx reporting to improve accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Maintain and reconcile CIP accounts, ensuring proper tracking and timely capitalization of assets.
  • Record and review project-related journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Partner with Construction, Engineering, Procurement, and Operations teams to align financial tracking with project milestones.
  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with capitalization policies and GAAP.
  • Improve fixed asset disposal/retirement processes to ensure accurate lifecycle tracking.
  • Collaborate with Tax and Treasury on depreciation, asset classification, and reporting compliance.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes by preparing reconciliations and asset-related financial reports.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide insight into project performance and cost drivers.
  • Assist with audit preparation and respond to internal/external audit requests related to capital projects and fixed assets.
  • Participate in systems integration and process improvement initiatives to modernize fixed asset tracking and reporting.
  • Stay current on industry best practices, systems, and regulatory changes in capital project and fixed asset accounting.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Information Systems, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred).
  • 6+ years of accounting experience with a focus on fixed assets or cost accounting.
  • Experience with capital-intensive projects such as data centers, infrastructure, or technology/telecom facilities.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and capital cost accounting principles.
  • Experience with CIP accounting, fixed asset lifecycle management, and financial reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), Coupa, Alteryx, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Systems-oriented mindset-able to understand data flows, integrations, and drive automation and process transformation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
