The Event Manager I plans, directs, and coordinates events held at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC). They assist other team members in coordinating and covering events.

Physical Requirements: Considerable mental and physical effort. Travel percentage: Not applicable.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and oversee all aspects of assigned events, including site visits, meetings, onsite execution, budgeting, and post-event surveys.
  • Manage events onsite from move-in to move-out, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
  • Support fellow Event Managers and collaborate with clients, contractors, and partners to ensure successful event execution.
  • Design room setups, diagram floor plans, and communicate requirements effectively.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Study in Business, Venue, Hospitality, or Entertainment Management.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience.
  • Ability to plan and manage small to medium events.
  • Strong multitasking, judgment, and resource management skills.
  • Reliable transportation and flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of building policies, codes, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP).
  • Knowledge of Ungerboeck and iPlan software.

Physical Activities:

Includes sitting, standing, walking, reaching, talking, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

Work Environment:

Exposure to large gatherings, outdoor weather conditions, and variable noise levels. PPE may be required. Must comply with all safety and regulatory standards.

Additional Comments: This is an onsite role requiring in-person collaboration and event coverage from start to finish. Responsibilities may extend beyond those listed, and job descriptions may be updated as needed.
