PURPOSE
Staff Accountant must have strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of accounting principles. Primary responsibilities include accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations, inter-company netting, agent reconciliations, GL journal entries, etc. Partner and collaborate with the business and our overseas shared service center to ensure corporate processes are implemented and managed.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inter-company reconciliation review, analysis and dispute resolution (30+ entities globally).
  • Manage intercompany recharges.
  • P&L Expense Account Analysis.
  • Balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Manage key ocean carrier statement reconciliations and the CASS airline reconciliation.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding financial transactions.
  • Other financial duties as required by the manager.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • This position is generally sedentary in nature; involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally lift to 10 lbs. required.
  • Ability to talk and hear required.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions required.
  • Ability to occasionally move inside the office.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
  • Ability to move or position self to reach, lift, climb, balance, stoop and crouch required.
  • Ability to read PC screens; detect colour coding, read fine print, and/or normal type size print required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential Minimum Qualifications
  • BS in Accounting or Finance
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years in global forwarding or a large global organization
SKILLS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB
Technical (Doing skills - job-related knowledge, policies, procedures, techniques)
  • The successful candidate should have experience as a staff accountant or similar role.
  • Thorough knowledge of proper accounting procedures.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables, vlookups, etc.
  • Experience with general ledger functions.
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
  • Client (internal and external) focus with strong service ethic and skills.
  • Methodical, planned and organized with high attention to detail and good time management.
  • Knowledge of freight forwarding (preferred)
  • Prior experience with Cargo Wise One (CW1) (preferred)
Business (Understanding of business concepts, knowledge of the organisation, profitability.)
  • Results-orientated and resilient.

Pay Transparency:
In compliance with applicable state and local laws, the salary range for this position is $59,000 - $85,000.
Note: Our pay groups are based on an internal geographic compensation framework that reflects regional market data and cost factors. Candidates will be informed of their applicable group during the recruitment process.
These ranges represent the minimum and maximum salary the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position, based on the location where the work will be performed. Final compensation will be determined based on geographic location, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors."
