Job Overview Corporate Tax Accountant:
Join our private equity client as a Corporate Tax Accountant in Jacksonville, FL, and play a key role in managing federal and state tax compliance, strategic tax planning, and audit support. This in-office position involves collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate filings, optimize tax strategies, and maintain compliance with evolving tax regulations.
Compensation: $110,000 $135,000/year + bonus
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)

Responsibilities as the Corporate Tax Accountant:
  • Tax Compliance & Preparation: Prepare federal and multi-state tax returns, including SALT franchise tax filings.
  • Tax Planning & Projections: Assist in tax planning, estimates, and apportionment schedules for strategic decision-making.
  • Regulatory Research & Compliance: Conduct tax research, monitor regulations, and support audits and reporting.
  • Audit Support & Issue Resolution: Collaborate with auditors, respond to tax notices, and assist with tax audits.
  • Process Automation & Calendar Management: Maintain automated tax calendars to ensure timely filings.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with internal teams to assess tax implications and mitigate risks.
Qualifications for the Corporate Tax Accountant:
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting required (MS in Taxation or CPA certification highly preferred).
  • Experience: 4-6 years of tax preparation experience in public accounting or a corporate tax department.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong Excel skills and familiarity with tax software (CCH Axcess and NetSuite G/L preferred).
  • SALT Expertise: Must have State and Local Tax (SALT) experience with a solid understanding of multi-state tax compliance.
  • Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and analytical, with strong tax research abilities, clear communication of complex concepts, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
