Position Summary:

We are seeking a qualified FGP Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will perform nuclear medicine procedures under general supervision, adhering to departmental standards and protocols.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Follow Service Standards and incorporate them into daily duties.
  2. Operate hospital and radiology information systems related to nuclear medicine, ensuring proper documentation and data management in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  3. Assess patient information and status, verify identity, explain procedures, and obtain consent when necessary.
  4. Prepare radiopharmaceuticals, calculate doses, and ensure safety and accuracy in handling radioactive materials.
  5. Position patients, operate imaging equipment, and acquire high-quality images for interpretation.
  6. Assist physicians during procedures, troubleshoot technical issues, and modify examinations as needed.
  7. Collect specimens and perform in-vivo/in-vitro procedures following industry standards.
  8. Prepare and manage radioactive materials, ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  9. Perform quality control on imaging equipment and maintain detailed records of procedures and safety checks.
  10. Maintain equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and ensure a safe working environment.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in a relevant field.
  • Completion of an NMTCB-recognized nuclear medicine technology program.
  • Eligibility to take certification exams through NMTCB or ARRT.
  • New York State License in Nuclear Medicine is required.
Required Licenses:

Nuc Med Technologist License, NMTCB Certification, ARRT Certification

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine technology or related field.

Qualified candidates must communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
