An international property management company seeks a bilingual Japanese bookkeeper (AR/AP) for its office leasing business in New York.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Accounts Payable (AP):
- Obtain approval for vendor invoices and issue checks or set up electronic payments.
- Handle employee payroll (including engineers) through ADP, and record related transactions.
- Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Receive security deposits and applications from tenants and deposit them into the control account.
- Process monthly payments from tenant companies, create reports, track delinquencies (if any), and reconcile bank statements.
- Safekeeping of leasing documentation for new leases and terminations.
- Tax Payments and Tax Returns:
- Work with an external accounting firm to manage tax payments and file tax returns.
- Quarterly Audit:
- Collaborate with an external accounting firm during quarterly audits.
- Prepare 1099 and 1096 forms by January.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience.
- Multi-task capability with HR, tax payment, office manager functions, etc.
- Team player with flexibility; some overtime at the end of the quarter and end of fiscal year.
- Bilingual capability in Japanese and English.
