Position: Staff Development / Risk Manager Coordinator
Facility: Yamato Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
Location: Boca Raton, Florida
Shift: Full-Time | Days
Salary: $90,000 - $94,000 (based on experience)
Position Overview:
Yamato Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Development / Risk Manager Coordinator (SDC/RM) to join our leadership team. This dual-role position is vital to our facilitys commitment to regulatory compliance, patient safety, and staff excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Management:
- Lead and manage the facility's risk management program.
- Investigate and analyze incidents, adverse events, and trends.
- Oversee incident reporting and ensure timely regulatory reporting (AHCA, CMS, DOH, etc.).
- Conduct root cause analyses (RCAs) and support corrective action plan implementation.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Track and analyze data related to falls, pressure injuries, medication errors, infections, elopements, and grievances.
- Actively participate in or lead the QAPI Committee.
- Assist with survey readiness and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Plan and lead comprehensive orientation for new hires, including clinical competencies and mandatory training.
- Coordinate and deliver ongoing in-service education in line with facility and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of staff training, certifications, competencies, and licensure.
- Provide coaching and performance support to ensure clinical excellence.
- Identify training needs through performance evaluations, clinical outcomes, and survey results.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) with an active Florida license required.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of nursing experience in long-term care.
- At least 1 year of experience in staff development, risk management, or quality improvement preferred.
- Certifications:
- CPR Instructor certification preferred.
- CPHRM or Staff Development certification (e.g., CDDN, NPD-BC) is a plus or must be obtained within a specified timeframe.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations (CMS, F-tags, OSHA).
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to coach and motivate staff effectively.
