The Accounting and Automation Support Bureau actively participates in the County Expense Claim Reporting Information System (CECRIS) Project from start to finish following the Agile-SCRUM methodology; contributes in the procurement process and monitors contract obligations and deliverables to ensure efficient compliance with all guidelines, rules and regulations. Utilizes the newly automated time reporting system, Employee Service Center, to streamline the labor distribution process which ensures the fiscal integrity of the cost allocation and FI$Cal month end/year end processes; ensures cost allocation processes adhere to federally approved methodology for the States Cost Allocation Plan and remains in line with the Budget Act on behalf of the Department. Provides financial reports and analysis to stakeholders and Department end users to support the Accounting & Fiscal System Branch's mission.

Job Description And Duties The Accounting and Fiscal Systems Branch is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Accounting Analyst to join the Encumbrance Unit within the Encumbrance and CECRIS Support Section. This position functions as a lead staff member responsible for performing complex reconciliations, resolving discrepancies in encumbrance and purchase order data, and providing technical support related to FI$Cal processes. The incumbent will work collaboratively with various programs, bureaus, and control agencies to ensure accurate and compliant financial transactions, while also identifying opportunities for process improvement. Training and Development assignments may be considered based on the availability of eligible candidates and are subject to approval by the Hiring Authority prior to appointment. Training and Development assignments are temporary in nature and shall not exceed twenty-four (24) months.
Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview, but they must provide proof of residence in California prior to being eligible for appointment.
