As a breakfast host/hostess, responsibilities include preparing and serving the daily free breakfast, cheerfully greeting each guest at breakfast, and ensuring that guests are completely satisfied. Breakfast attendants oversee the setup and take down of the breakfast service, as well as maintain the dining space, ensure food is available, , and provide any other guest services.
Essential Functions

  • Providing personalized service to all guests
  • Setting up, breaking down, and maintaining breakfast bar in an attractive, abundant-looking, organized, clean, and standardized presentation
  • Taking inventory of food, beverages, and supplies needed for each day
  • Ordering or purchasing food supplies
  • Preparing foods such as fresh fruit, coffee, and juices from concentrates
  • Stocking coffee, juice, and milk machines/dispensers
  • Setting up serving dishes/trays, utensils, cups, and paper products
  • Setting out/arranging cold food such as sweet rolls, muffins, and cereal for self-service
  • Clearing and cleaning tables as they are vacated, cleaning spills, removing trash
  • Restocking self-service food and supplies, as needed
  • Washing serving equipment and returning to storage
  • Returning reusable food supplies to storage
  • Listening and responding to guests' requests
  • Clean lobby/breakfast area, including but not limited to: dusting, sweeping, mopping
Supportive Functions
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions:
  • Assist co-workers, as requested
  • Light clean up in back office, removing trash, sweeping/vacuuming
Safety Requirements
OSHA laws require the use of the
following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work duties that
have the potential of risk to your health or safety:
•Latex and / or rubber gloves
•Closed toe and heel shoes with rubber soles
Exposures: In this job, you will be exposed to cleaning chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, dust, and noise
Requirements
  • Ability to work independently, completing all daily assigned duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and/or team members verbally or in written form
  • Ability to learn, follow and enforce standards for cleanliness as they apply to the areas assigned
  • Prior experience in food preparation preferred, not required
  • Background and job reference check, drug screening
  • Ability to follow all safety procedures/standards and able to recognize and act in emergency

Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
