Summary
This position plays a crucial role in assisting the Division Controller managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The accountant will collaborate with various departments to maintain accurate financial records and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Employee must be able to perform these essential functions of the position satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job, absent undue hardship.

  • Maintains and updates accurate financial records, including ledgers and journals.
  • Ensures timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Provides support to division controller in preparation and analyses of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and workpapers.
  • Assists in the monitoring of budgets.
  • Collaborates with management to assist in financial forecasts.
  • Reconciles bank statements and ensures accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Stays current with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements including preparation and filing of sales tax returns and other govt. filing requirements as needed.
  • Collaborate with audit team during financial audits.
  • Prepares supporting documentation for audit reviews.
  • Assists with financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provides recommendations for financial performance enhancement.
  • Works closely with other departments to gather financial information and supports decision-making processes.
  • Works with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable and other departments as needed to resolve issues.
  • Collaborates with team members to improve financial processes.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with the requirements of the companys ISO 9001 Quality Management System (when required).

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, climb, bend and kneel on an occasional basis.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Regular manual dexterity/coordination: hand/eye movements, motor control.
  • Regular visual effort: concentrated reading of documentation or close viewing of computer displays.
  • Able to push, pull and lift up to 15 lbs. on an occasional basis.

Required Education/Experience/Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or comparable experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficient computer knowledge including accounting software, e-mail, Word, and Excel.
