The Cleveland Orchestra
The Cleveland Orchestra is seeking a Finance Associate who will provide direct support of the Finance functions through assistance in daily processing of receipts, input of invoices, reconciliation of accounts, journal entries, and preparation of regular reports as assigned. In addition, the Finance Associate provides general clerical support to the CFO and the finance department staff.
Position responsibilities include the following:
ACCOUNTING (85-90%)
- Process cash receipts including preparation and processing of bank deposits and entry into the accounting system as appropriate with daily reporting on bank accounts.
- Reconciles and records daily credit card transactions.
- Create and apply payments to invoices.
- Reconcile and record all ticket revenue.
- Perform data entry for Accounts Payable and act as a backup for processing of the weekly check run.
- Reconcile contributions and process data entry related to those transactions.
- Reconcile various general ledger activity to other database systems or reporting as required.
- Assist with annual audit workpaper preparation as needed.
- Assist the CFO's role of being the staff liaison to Trustee committees including Audit, Finance, Investment and Pension by helping to schedule meetings, distribute materials, etc.
- Assist in managing the CFO's calendar including scheduling meetings, and telephone communications.
- Assist the CFO and others in Finance in preparing and distributing communications.
- Provide general administrative support to Finance managers.
- Order and maintenance of supplies, including for certain office equipment.
- Associates degree or commensurate experience required
- 4+ years of experience in an accounting position
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and financial database systems, such as GP Dynamics
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail is a must

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
