The Respiratory Care Assistant (RCA) is enrolled in a recognized Respiratory Care Program that have been approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.

Responsibilities

  • Respiratory Care Assistant will work under the direct supervision of a licensed respiratory care practitioner (RCP).
  • The RCA will be competent and perform the following respiratory care procedures: oxygen supply systems, equipment processing, manual resuscitation, oxygen administration, humidity and aerosol therapy, small volume nebulizer therapy, MDI administration, incentive spirometry, non-invasive mechanical airway clearance therapy, chest physiotherapy with suctioning, arterial puncture, electrocardiogram (if performed by hiring institute), and patient reporting.

Respiratory Care Assistant Required. Basic Life Support Required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support Required.

Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required - And College Courses Respiratory Therapy Required
Experience:
Training Clinical - Respiratory Therapy Required
