The Lead Imaging Technologist is responsible for performing radiographic procedures, ionizing radiation to render optimum images which are used to support diagnoses and provide insight into medical issues, concerns or conditions. This position conducts preliminary analysis on images and collaborates with doctors and other Healthcare professionals to interpret images. The Lead directs and monitors the performance of assigned personnel and collaborates with Imaging leadership and the medical director in the development and/or modification of tests, procedures, and protocols. This position assists in the training of students and technologists in Imaging and ensures their team maintains optimum timeliness, accuracy, proficiency, efficiency, and safety during the execution of duties.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3pm - 11:30pm
  • Gather information on patients' illnesses and medical history to guide the choice of diagnostic procedures for therapy. Explain procedures and safety precautions to patients and answer patient questions. Ensure patients are not exposed to excessive amounts of radiation.
  • Position the patient and equipment correctly to produce results with the best quality. Operate machine properly in order to produce clear imaging results of a patient's body. Observe the equipment to make sure that it is working properly. Adjust dials to make sure the machine is set at the proper voltage and radiation levels.
  • Complete all general diagnostic imaging exams and procedures in multiple modalities; identifies optimal images for review, processes and evaluates to policy and protocol.
  • Take X-rays of patients' tissue, organs and bones to evaluate for possible injury or illness.
  • Delegate work assignments to employees according to department needs effectively and efficiently.
  • Educate new and current staff on new and existing procedures and exams.
  • Practice established patient safety guidelines, utilizing universal precautions and infection control.
  • Provide technical assistance to physician and other medical personnel.
  • Collaborate on patient medical issues with the physician to determine protocol and procedure.
  • Implement new exams and procedures.
  • Write detailed reports about the patient's behavior or any machine malfunctions.
  • Assist with HFAP, ISDH, and other survey readiness.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • ARRT-R or ARRT-CT required
  • Associate's Degree preferred
  • ISDH Radiology License required
  • 3 years of Radiology experience required
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association required
