Medical Office LPN position in the Pulmonary department in Poughkeepsie, NY
40 hours per week, 8 hour shifts Monday through Friday; 8:00AM- 4:30PM
Purpose:
To assist the physician or physician assistant in providing primary medical care to the patients of the Office Practice.
Essential Responsibilities
Working Conditions:
Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
Occupational: Some occupational risk
Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force
Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.

Medical Office LPN position in the Pulmonary department in Poughkeepsie, NY

Purpose:
To assist the physician or physician assistant in providing primary medical care to the patients of the Office Practice.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepares materials, supplies, equipment, and the patient to assist the physician or the physician assistant with the patient's medical exam.
- Obtains the patients history and basic medical data such as vital signs temperature, height and weight, vision, and chief complaint.
- Provides direct patient care, such as ear irrigation, vaccinations and medications, wound care, and suture removal.
- Collects, prepares, and analyzes patient specimens as directed by the physician or physician assistant.
- Instructs the patient and family on how to perform physician recommended preventive care, takes prescribed medication, prepares for tests, monitors treatment progress and notes symptom changes.
- Contacts the patient by telephone to provide requested follow-up, advises them of test results or relays a physician's instructions.
- Performs organizational responsibilities to achieve the Practices' and Organization's missions through a process of total quality improvement.
- Completes all meaningful use requirements.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. 10. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains and Model the Organization's values.
- Demonstrates regular, dependable, and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting.
- Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.
- Basic medical knowledge and terminology.
- Computer skills/data entry.
- Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vitals.
- Vaccine administration and medication preparation.
- Minimum Experience: one year.
- Proficiency in multiple languages.
- Phlebotomy.
- EKG.
- HS Graduate or Equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited LPN Program.
