Job Description
Position: Federal Financial Specialist
The Federal Financial Specialist supports the DoN Office of Financial Management and Naval Facilities Engineering Command FIAR efforts. Responsibilities include gaining knowledge of business processes, internal controls, and systems to support audit readiness. The role involves evaluating cross-functional processes and transactions impacting financial reporting, applying subject matter expertise.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in auditing, accounting, or financial management
- Experience with DoD operations and business activities supporting Real Property
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 and OMB Circular A-123 requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of budgetary resources and related concepts
- Experience with assertion packages, internal controls, and performance reporting
- Certifications such as CDFM, CGFM, CPA
- Understanding of DoD Financial Management environment
- Leadership experience in delivering teams
