With 35 years of experience, Summit Point Motorsports Park and Training Facility provides Commercial Motorsports events along with customized Security and Emergency Medical training solutions on our 786-acre facility located in Summit Point, WV. At Summit Solutions Group (SSG), we are the mission support arm of the Summit Point Training Facility. As a dedicated US Government contractor, we specialize in delivering comprehensive solutions that ensure operational excellence and mission success.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Driver Training Lead/Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the preparation, maintenance, and operation of training vehicles used in driver instruction programs. This position ensures that all vehicles are maintained in safe working condition, assists with logistics for range activities, and provides technical oversight to range support staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, a firm understanding of vehicle safety protocols, and the ability to manage hazardous materials according to federal regulations.
This potion is contingent upon contract award. Employment will commence only if the contract is awarded.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supervise daily vehicle maintenance operations and training vehicle readiness.
  • Conduct routine operator-level maintenance on safety inspections including fluid levels, tire condition, windshield wiper function, etc.
  • Create and submit clear and detailed work orders for vehicle repair needs.
  • Assist in expediting vehicle repairs and ensuring vehicles are returned to service promptly.
  • Test-drive vehicles to evaluate repair completeness and functionality.
  • Manage hazardous waste responsibilities per the FLETC-OAO Hazardous Waste Management Plan and applicable Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Provide leadership and logistical support for range setup and cleanup operations.
  • Ensure all range support staff maintain appropriate certifications and adhere to safety and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Minimum of two years in automobile repairs.
  • Must possess a valid operator's license issued by the State of New Mexico.
  • Valid certifications for: forklift operation (6-ton capacity), tow truck operation with load & ATV operation.
  • Ability to assess vehicle condition and identify repair needs.
  • Strong written communication for preparing work orders and maintenance documentation.
  • Familiarity with hazardous waste handling and government safety standards.
  • Leadership capability to supervise and guide support personnel effectively.
  • Must meet Code of Federal Regulations requirements for range support certification.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Standing, walking, and operating vehicles for extended periods.
