Job Function / Summary:

Assembles, maintains, and analyzes domestic and/or international tax information used in the preparation of municipal, state, and federal tax returns and financial statement tax provisions. Provides guidance for junior officers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepares tax calculations for federal, state, and municipal income and franchise tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments.
  • Maintains detailed tax records to validate tax positions on returns.
  • Assists with financial statement and regulatory disclosures related to income taxes, including calculations and documentation.
  • Researches tax implications of new or pending laws, regulations, and rulings.
  • Assists with audit defense involving federal and state tax issues.
  • Researches and analyzes business transactions for tax effects.
  • Promotes organizational integrity and ethical standards within the team.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Complies with applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Minimum Required Education, Experience & Knowledge:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business, with at least 4 years of corporate tax experience, preferably in banking; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • CPA designation required.
  • Experience with multi-state corporate tax required.
  • Experience with ASC740 income tax provision required.
  • Advanced knowledge in corporate tax accounting and applicable laws.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Essential Mental & Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and read documents as needed.
  • Ability to travel if required.
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds; accommodations will be made if necessary.
