Overview

As a Vice President, this is an opportunity to work within a growing group for a top 20 Bank with significant advancement opportunities both in the department and other functional areas of First Citizens Commercial Bank.

MMB targets companies across most industry sectors that include traditional industries of manufacturing, wholesaling/distribution, transportation/logistics and service businesses.

Responsibilities
  • Candidates will work within a team construct to take a leadership role in the credit underwriting and portfolio management of diverse debt solutions for middle-market companies. Specifically: (i) debt refinancing for working capital, fixed assets, or real property; (ii) acquisition financing; or (iii) recapitalizations.
  • Specific new business underwriting duties include: (i) transaction structuring; (ii) risk mitigation; (iii) financial modeling; (iv) independent industry research; (v) compiling and presenting approval requests; (vi) preparing and negotiating legal documents; and (vii) funding and closing transactions.
  • Specific portfolio management duties include: (i) preparing waiver and amendment requests or underwriting add-on opportunities; (ii) monitoring individual accounts for performance trends to ensure accurate and timely risk ratings; and (iii) maintaining credit files in preparation for internal or external audits.
  • Taking the lead on driving the transaction process.
  • Training and developing junior team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all FCB policies and procedures.
  • Firm understanding of FCB systems and resources.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Finance, Banking OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Finance, Banking.

Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree with courses relevant to business and financial analysis.
  • 10 years of experience in commercial lending or investing environment, preferably within middle market banking.
  • Commercial loan closing experience including owner occupied real estate.
  • The completion of a formal credit training program.

  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Strong expertise with financial modeling and credit analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks with changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and problem solve to then take initiative to drive processes forward.
  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to function independently and as part of a small deal team.

The base pay for this position is generally between $135,000 and $160,000 if based in California. Actual starting pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other factors. Total compensation may include bonuses, benefits, and other awards. More information can be found at
