The Energy Auditor will conduct comprehensive energy audits for commercial, residential, and industrial facilities, identifying opportunities for energy efficiency and recommending actionable improvements. This role requires strong analytical, technical, and communication skills to develop and implement effective energy-saving strategies.
What You'll Do:
•Perform facility and system commissioning activities.
•Assist in development of energy audit fee proposals.
•Interact with clients, perform design reviews for constructability, maintainability, commissionability, reliability, and efficiency of design
•Perform site visits to observe installation is in accordance with the approved design and to industry expected standards.
•Develop functional performance test (FPT) to facilitate testing of systems independently and as integrated systems.
•Provide written reports throughout the commissioning process and upon completion of the project.
•Review and assist in development of proposal budgets, project schedules, scope of work

What You'll Do:
- Perform detailed ASHRAE Level I, II, and III energy audits, assessing current energy usage and systems efficiency.
- Analyze utility bills, operational patterns, and mechanical/electrical systems.
- Support the preparation of detailed energy reports, including LCCA and ROI analyses
- Experience using diagnostic equipment (infrared cameras, data loggers, blower doors) to assess building performance is desired
- Identify energy-saving opportunities and create clear, detailed audit reports.
- Develop cost-benefit analyses and calculate ROI for energy efficiency improvements.
- Develop life-cycle-cost-analysis
- Recommend energy conservation measures (ECMs), renewable energy solutions, and sustainable practices.

Minimum Required Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or energy systems engineering, or environmental science, or documented related field experience. Electrical engineering degree is highly desired.
- Advanced degree and PE desired.
- A Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Energy Management Professional (EMP), or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) are highly desired.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Building Energy Simulation Analyst (BESA), Certified Measurement & Verifications Professional (CMVP), and professional commissioning certification are desirable.
- Minimum 3 years of dedicated experience conducting energy audits.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, lighting, renewable technologies).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- Flexibility for travel to client sites and project locations as required. Typically, 20% to 30%
- Must be eligible to work on federal facilities and clear background checks.
