Job Title: Digital Transformation Consultant - Workflow Standardization Location: Boston, MA Pay rate: $75 TO $80/hr on W2 Duration : 6+ months Contract with possibility if extension depends on the performance and project
Position Summary:
The Digital Transformation Consultant - Workflow Standardization will report to the Chief of Staff to the Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) and collaborate with IT leadership across departments. The role will lead initiatives to optimize and standardize IT workflows, drive cross-functional process improvements, and manage change efforts. This includes evaluating and modernizing legacy processes and tools to enhance operational efficiency and consistency in IT project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess current IT workflows and processes across operations, applications, infrastructure, service desk, security, and project management. Facilitate interviews, workshops, and feedback sessions with staff to identify pain points and gather insights. Design and implement standardized, end-to-end workflows based on current state analysis and industry best practices. Recommend process automation and system integration improvements to enhance workflow efficiency. Create detailed documentation including process maps, diagrams, and user guides using tools like Visio or LucidChart. Develop and execute change management strategies to support workflow adoption across teams. Conduct training sessions and internal communications to ensure awareness and effective use of new processes. Support adoption and troubleshoot challenges post-implementation in coordination with IT leadership. Track key performance metrics and ROI related to process changes and workflow enhancements. Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets related to process optimization initiatives. Promote continuous improvement by encouraging feedback, iteration, and the use of data to refine workflows. Stay informed on emerging industry tools, trends, and best practices in digital transformation and IT operations.
Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field. Experience: At least 10 years of experience in IT consulting, digital transformation, or project management. Strong experience in workflow design, process standardization, and change management. Demonstrated success supporting legacy systems while implementing modern solutions.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required):
PMP (Project Management Professional) ITIL Agile/Scrum certification Lean Six Sigma
Skills & Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of IT project methodologies (Agile, Waterfall). Proficiency in process documentation and workflow design tools (e.g., Visio, LucidChart). Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. Analytical and strategic mindset. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Strong collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
