This is an entry-level position working directly with a Senior Estimator or Estimator on project bids and potentially alongside an Estimator III or Senior Estimator. The Estimator II is responsible for surveying quantities of building specialties, doors, windows, and miscellaneous finishes. This role will provide training on basic estimating procedures, software, construction fundamentals, and plan reading skills. Estimator II report to the Senior Estimator, who serves as the Job Captain (Lead Estimator) for their project.

You could be just the right applicant for this job Read all associated information and make sure to apply. Duties: Process Management: Establish and maintain relationships with key subcontractors. Personnel Management: Process RFIs for estimating and job addendums. Preconstruction Responsibilities: Archive past bids in the company’s bid binder. Technical Duties: Maintain the subcontractor database. Load all drawings and specifications for distribution to subcontractors via online formats (e.g., Building Connected). Perform additional assignments as directed by the Vice President of Estimating or Senior Estimator. Prepare subcontractor solicitation inquiries and telephone solicitations for bids. Provide technical support to estimators preparing discipline-specific estimates (e.g., formwork, concrete, masonry) for assigned bids. Update subcontractor bid information in the subcontractor database post-bid. Provide quantity takeoffs for trades. Display eagerness to learn and demonstrate a good attitude towards assigned responsibilities. Comments: The Estimator II must have the aptitude to learn estimating systems, including accurate quantity takeoffs, communication with subcontractors and vendors, and correct analysis of scope, inclusions, and exclusions for bid day quotes. A full understanding of the subcontracting market is essential. The candidate should be capable of assisting in purchasing “hard bid” projects, applying logical thinking, reasoning, and sound judgment. Strong oral and written communication skills, mathematical accuracy for cost estimations, and proficiency in basic computer and estimating software are required. The candidate must assess information using personal judgment, perform work accurately, and develop measurable historical data.
