Position Summary
MJ is actively seeking a structural engineer to join our team in Clifton Park, NY to assist with current and exciting future projects. This job offering provides an exciting opportunity for the ideal candidate to grow and advance in MJ’s structural and engineering practices. We are seeking a motivated candidate with a strong interest in structural engineering that is well organized, resourceful, and creative.
Candidates should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team and have strong verbal, written and graphic communication skills. As a structural engineer, you will progress design concepts through design development and work with the project team to produce construction documents for a wide range of regional projects.
Key Responsibilities
Work within a project team to support structural projects from initial project programming up to and through construction. Analysis and design of building structures, including reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, concrete masonry, wood and steel. Communicate effectively and coordinate with project team members, including subconsultants and other disciplines. Lead structural engineer on multi-discipline projects. Develop structural assessment reports for existing building structures. Perform peer review of calulations and design documents.
Qualifications
Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET- accredited college with 5 to 10+ years of relevant experience Professional Engineering license required Understanding of NYS building codes and regulations Technical knowledge in the use of AutoCAD Technical knowledge in BIM Ability to work within multiple design teams and execute to meet demanding schedules Have excellent technical writing and communication skills Must be a U.S. citizen or be eligible to work without an employer sponsorship
