Position

: Sanitation Technician

Shift:

Monday - Friday, 2pm to 10:30pm

Description:

The role of the Sanitation Technician is to perform operations including but not limited general cleaning and sanitation of production areas, clean-in-place (CIP) and clean–out-of-place (COP) equipment, exterior of building, and other areas as assigned.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform cleaning procedures required by the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and other required duties to maintain assigned areas sanitary and clean, i.e., floor drains, hand wash sinks, overheads, production trash cans, clean floors, walls, ceiling, air vents, lights, ledges, beams, etc., of the plant, equipment, and exterior of all equipment, etc.

Complete, maintain, and review of daily and weekly area cleanliness and other reports

Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations with health and safety issues

Ensure all chemical containers have proper and legible labels on them

Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, sanitation, and Safety requirements and report any nonconformity

Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment.

Attend required training, including but not limited to Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF).

Work schedule may include on call and weekend shifts

Requirements

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

One to three years of sanitation or related experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of plant operations

Able to operate plant equipment

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Effectively work on a team

Able to follow and carry out instructions

Able to perform tasks and duties under general supervision

Must be proficient in standard math

Able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
