Position Summary The Licensed Optician will assist the Optometrist in delivering professional services to patients. This role includes conducting patient history intake, performing visual testing, guiding patients in eyewear selection, and ensuring precise prescription verification and fitting. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dedication to enhancing the patient’s experience.

Duties & Responsibilities Interpret eye examination results and prescriptions from Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses suited to their prescriptions, lifestyle, and preferences. Recommend appropriate lens materials, coatings, and designs. Measure patients for proper fit of eyewear and adjust frames for optimal comfort and alignment. Prepare and review orders for accuracy in prescriptions, lens thickness, and specifications. Dispense quality eyewear products and educate patients on proper usage and care. Perform advanced measurements such as pupillary distance and segment height for various lens types. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely processing of orders. Collaborate with team members to deliver seamless patient care. Perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor. Hours of Operation Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Saturday 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM Location Columbus, GA Talbotton, GA Fortson, GA

Requirements:

2+ years of experience as a Licensed Optician. High School diploma or G.E.D. Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Exceptional attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications & Experience State licensure or national certification by a recognized opticianry association. American Board of Opticianry (ABOC-AV) or National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE-AC) certification. Experience in sales or retail environments. Compliance & Confidentiality Adheres to all Federal, State, and local regulations, including HIPAA Privacy & Security guidelines Must sign and uphold the facility’s Pledge of Confidentiality Responsible for securing electronic health records and personal workspaces Physical & Environmental Requirements Must be able to stand, walk, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs Exposure to communicable diseases, medical solutions, and clinical equipment Must be able to work under pressure and irregular hours as needed Compensation & Benefits Salary: $36,896 - $61,493 , based on experience 100% Company-paid
