CUSTODIAN

Reports to: Hudson-Campbell Manager
Status: Part-Time
Salary: $12,724.55
The custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of a fitness center and the surrounding grounds. Their duties include but are not limited to vacuuming floors, sanitizing restroom facilities and collecting trash to ensure the building's occupants have a clean space.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The ideal candidate will: • Keep building and property in clean and orderly condition. • Perform routine maintenance activities. • Perform heavy cleaning duties. • Sweep, mop, scrub, buff, or vacuum floors. • Gather and empty trash. • Scrub, sanitize, and supply restroom facilities. • Dust furniture, walls and equipment. • Clean windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers. • Mix cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions. • Follow procedures for use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. • Clean and polish fixtures and furniture. • Shampoo or steam-clean carpets and rugs. • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS: • Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours • Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time • Experience using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions • Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals • Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety rules • Communication skills • Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights
