This is a first shift opportunity.
OVERALL ROLE The Shipping/Warehouse assistant assists in the day-to-day operations in the shipping, receiving and warehouse departments.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shipping Process shipments and paperwork (i.e., carriers, labels, BOLs) using current operating systems. Pick and prepare materials for shipment. Assist sales with questions or issues in regards to customers shipments. Notify sales of late deliveries and ship schedule changes. Assist in the loading and unloading of materials Inspect orders to ensure product meets customer requirements. Maintain work area to assure a neat and functional space. Provide tracking information as required. Receiving Ensure receiving forms are completed and provided to accounting. Maintain receiving paperwork and samples in an organized manner. Warehouse Monitor inventory of supplies such as boxes, tape, spools. Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization. Store completed production items and assure they are identified and their storage location is recorded. Pick and return materials needed by production and sales, as needed Inspect and maintain safety of lift trucks, pallet jacks, and all other equipment needed to perform the duties of the material handler. Inventory control including cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS: Forklift experience Good verbal and written communication Ability to anticipate and solve problems, and perform simple math calculations Organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to meet deadlines Proficient with data entry and inventory software Skilled in the safe operation of hand jacks, lift trucks and other material handling equipment Able to lift up-to 50 lbs. Safety shoes are required
