Job Description Summary
WVNCC seeks
Part-Time Temporary Van Driver
for
TRIO Upward Bound, to transport students for
Saturday College Day and/or Summer Academy.
This is a grant funded position. TRIO Upward Bound van drivers are expected to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the Upward Bound participants while riding in the van.
Responsibilities include transporting students in grades 9-12th from select schools (Toronto, Steubenville, Buckeye Local, Edison, Indian Creek) during Saturday sessions and five-week long Summer Academy.
Students being served by the program are typically from low income and/or will be the first in their families to graduate from college. The tutoring and summer courses are intended to help students to strengthen their study skills, spark interest in life-long learning, and offer any necessary remediation to prepare for college/university enrollment. Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to
Ability to communicate and work effectively with students of varying abilities, and who may need encouragement and positive reinforcement. Qualifications and Requirements
A valid driver's license is required, as well as van driver training, which will be provided.
Position will be up to 15 hours per week, schedule is typically between 7:30-9:30am and 3-6pm.
The pay is $15-$18 per hour. Employees not benefit eligible.
