Material Coordinator
to our Warehouse team to support our facility on
U.S. Naval Air Station in Fallon, Nevada . This position will report to the Project Manager and will be responsible for performing various warehouse functions. USS offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits! Veterans are highly encouraged to apply!
**Must be able to pass a government background check to obtain access to a military base.
Responsibilities
The Material Coordinator coordinates and expedites the flow of material, including Hazardous material (HAZMAT), parts, and assemblies within or between
departments/activities
in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities. In this job, the Material Coordinator reviews inventory records and production schedules, confers with
departments/activities
and supervisors to determine material requirements, monitors overdue orders, requisition replenishment materials, and monitors min max levels and shelf-life requirements. This worker may establish delivery sequences to
departments/activities
according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material. This worker may arrange for the transfer of materials to meet
production/deployment
schedules and Pack-up-Kit (PUK) requirements between
departments/activities.
This Worker may monitor and control inventory movements and compute the amount of material needed for specific job orders. Requisition suitable replacement materials using knowledge of product manufacturing processes and material Safety Data Sheets. This worker will use databases to conduct inventory and compile reports of quantity, type of material on hand, and manage shelf-life requirements. This worker will compile perpetual production records to locate material on hand ready for issue, using manual or computerized system, and maintain historical records.
Additional tasks and warehouse duties may be assigned. Preferred Qualifications Forklift certification Annual Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) training (DoD or local). The physical job requirement involves, but is not limited to, walking, reaching, bending-over, concentration in the presence of noise, lifting items up to 50 lbs., and traversing narrow passageways, climbing ladders/stairs, and operating in confined spaces.
