About Us

APIs underpin the internet but are still painful to work with. They are often untyped, unstandardized, and out-of-sync across multiple sources of truth. We enables businesses to offer "Stripe-level" SDKs (client libraries) and Docs for their REST API. Inspired by internal tooling we saw at AWS and Palantir, we're building to let every engineering team offer easy-to-use and well-documented APIs.

Founded in 2022, we're less than 20 people, building open source, and backed by YCombinator. We work together in our office in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. Our customers include Cohere, ElevenLabs, Webflow, and Merge.dev.

Overview

This role is ideal for ambitious Java engineers with entrepreneurial goals. We are looking for an expert to lead the development of our Java/PHP/Ruby/Python/Typescript SDK generator. Your work will directly influence the experience of thousands of developers using SDKs for companies like Square, Cohere, and more. You'll define what high quality looks like in SDKs and help set the standard for the broader community. Many of us are former or future founders, and this is an opportunity to scale a company from $1M to $10M ARR while partnering with fast-growing tech companies shaping the future of software. We value in-person collaboration and work out of our office in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn.

What you'll do Define best practices for the language of your choice (Java, Python, Typescript, PHP, or Ruby). You'll set the tone for how a modern SDK should feel - readable, idiomatic, and a joy to use. We're constantly raising the bar to make our SDKs the best in the industry. This is more than code generation; it's about crafting Java libraries that developers trust and love. You'll own core components of our open source compiler, defining the primitives that power every one of our SDKs. You'll implement new capabilities like auto-pagination and server-sent events, and push the boundaries of what a generated SDK can offer. Engage with the community. You'll stay on top of modern tools and frameworks, incorporate best practices, and work directly with developers through GitHub issues and community forums to evolve the SDK based on real-world needs. Build our team. You'll work closely with our CEO and CTO to recruit and mentor new engineers as we scale. What you'll bring

Deep experience with modern tools PHP-such as Composer, Guzzle, PHPStan, and Rector. Python- such as Pydantic, mypy, poetry, and uv. Ruby- such as Rails, rake, and vcr. Typescript- such as turborepo, vite, and zod. Java- such as Gradle, Maven, and OkHttp. Strong grasp of an evolving ecosystem PHP- from type checking to emerging standards like Symfony and Laravel. Python- from type checking to emerging standards like FastAPI. Ruby- from type checking with Sorbet and RBS to emerging standards like tapioca. Typescript- from runtimes like bun and deno to emerging standards like Next.js. Java- from cross compatibility between Java and Kotlin to emerging standards like structured concurrency. Enthusiasm for shaping language communities. An eye for crafting a great developer experience. (Bonus) You've worked in a high-growth SaaS company. (Bonus) Experience working with OpenAPI, GraphQL, Protocol Buffers, AsyncAPI, or Smithy (AWS). What we offer
