Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
A master's degree Texas Mid-Management or Texas Principal Certification At least three years of experience as a teacher T-TESS Appraiser Certification Special Knowledge/Skills:
Experience:
At least three years of experience as a teacher Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school administration of the school. Serves as principal in the absence of the regular principal. Assists in preparation of master schedule, student schedules, and maintenance of all student academic records. Assists in the appraisal process of the teaching staff by serving as the other appraiser. Assists in the registration and orientation of new students. Serves as attendance officer for the school, writes letters of warning, when necessary, in reference to school compulsory attendance, files complaints when violations occur and represents the school district in resulting court cases; supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance. Coordinates student organizations as related to fund raising, field trips, transportation, and building reservations. Administers the student insurance program. Assists with the master calendar of building usage. Develops a weekly calendar. Assumes responsibility for scheduling and supervising all school assembly programs. Coordinates the programs for special populations as assigned by the principal. Supervises detention hall and in-school suspension. Responsible for inventory, equipment, and supplies. Responsible for campus security and key control. Assists in the supervision of extracurricular activities assigned by the principal. Serves as liaison with Director of Curriculum and Instruction to assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of the District curriculum. Serves as the campus coordinator for the Region 10 Education Service Center services. Serves as campus coordinator for textbooks, supplies, and other materials. Assists with the orientation of new teachers. Assists in the supervision and evaluation of substitute teachers. Helps build staff morale by cooperating with teachers in obtaining instructional materials and needs. Prepares and supervises all duty schedules. Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body and deals with special cases as necessary. Assists in the supervision of the custodial staff to ensure proper building and grounds maintenance. Assists in overseeing the physical operation of the school plant. Assists in the preparation of the building(s) for special events. Assists with all safety inspections and safety drill practice activities. Performs other duties as the superintendent may assign. Customer Care Skills:
Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff and other professionals at all times. Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking slowly and clearly. Take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff. Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an attitude of "going the extra mile" for others. Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in an appropriate timeframe. Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented environment toward all internal and external customers.
