JOB SUMMARY Responsible for the functions of receiving, warehousing, distribution for MDMC. Maintains inventory supplies for MDMC and for the various departments. FUNCTIONS OF POSITION: 1. Responsible for the accurate receiving of all incoming freight. 2. Responsible for the inspection of all incoming freight. Accurately checks in freight, listing shortages and damages on Bills of Lading, packing slips and reports these directly to the buyers in a timely manner. 3. Responsible for the accurate distribution of incoming freight (on site and off site) 4. Responsible for in-town purchases when needed 5. Operates vehicles at a safe and cautious speed at all times. Reports problems per Hospital policy. 6. Constantly stocks shelves of warehouse, assuring JACO standards are met. 7. Responsible for alerting Warehouse Supervisor and/or Buyers when supplies are running low. 8. Remains aware of the responsibilities to keep the storeroom, loading dock and other storage areas neat, clean and orderly at all times. 9. Performs other duties as assigned. 10. Assists in other aspects of the SC/MM department when normal tasks are completed or when emergency situations arise. 11. Maintains and assures good public relations at all times. 12. Constantly must be aware of product changes and be able to explain the changes with other departments. 13. Handles various hazardous supplies (not radio-active) for various areas. 14. Has daily contact with other departments, employees, etc. 15. Must become familiar with the location of every department (on and off-site), to deliver supplies 16. Assures we have on hand sufficient amounts of patient charge labels 17. Accurately checks in all freight, receives in the computer, scans documents to respective PO 18. Track number of pieces of freight received on a daily basis. 19. Works with office staff on invoice discrepancies on a timely manner. 20. Accurately bills departments for all items issued and returned from the Main inventory. 21. Consistently rotates all incoming stock items. 22. Assists with product recalls. 23. Constantly assures that no outdated supplies are within the inventory. Checks all aisle at the minimum monthly, and turns in outdate sheets to Director by the 27th of each month. 24. Utilized good receiving, storage and distribution techniques. 25. Handles and stores sterile supplies in a manner to protect the integrity of the supplies 26. Handles and delivers refrigerated items within 1 hour of their receipt. 27. Attaches proper patient charge labels to respective supplies. 28. Fills par cart and other non-stock orders on a timely manner. 29. Performs as needed cycle counts as directed by Warehouse Supervisor/Buyer. 30. Turns in weekly cycle count sheets to Director. 31. Performs bi-yearly physical inventory (which may occur on weekends). 32. Is “On Call”, for the MM department, this is for 365 days per year, and is split between the MM warehouse clerks and warehouse supervisor. 33. Responsible for keeping their assigned aisles neat, organized and with no outdates. 34. Daily files packing slips and assures that all stock freight is checked in, received and put in proper location within warehouse. 35. Assures that all patient charge items are issued ONLY with patient charge stickers attached to them. 36. Keeps storeroom swept, trash cans emptied and aisles free of clutter 37. Assure that Hospital truck’s back door is kept shut at all times (unless with you are with the truck unloading). Truck is not to be driven with back door opened. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High school graduate. LICENSE: Class E driver’s license required CREDENTIALS: Fork Lift Certification Required EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years’ experience in Hospital setting preferred. 1-2 years’ warehouse experience preferred Ability to utilize PC required Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to learn the various types of medical supplies and become familiar with their uses. PATIENT CONTACT: Minimum. MACHINE OPERATION: Electric forklift and certification required. Delivery van Class E driver’s License required Computer/PC Labeling machine Hand held Scanner Printers I-pads STANDING: Entire day spent on feet, walking, standing and pushing of carts. Reaching and bending also done daily on a frequent basis. WALKING: Most of day spent walking warehouse retrieving supplies, rest of time spent walking, pushing carts and delivering supplies throughout hospital. LIFTING: Lift 50 lbs - job entails loading and unloading all freight and supplies on a frequent basis. VISUAL: Must be able to read and write and accurately handle all documentation as required by the job. HEARING: Ability to receive and understand phone calls. SPEAKING: Must be able to communicate effectively as job brings them into contact with many people on a daily basis. JOB
