Description Join Leidos as a Senior System Administrator specializing in SCCM/MECM to support a dynamic enterprise IT contract for the Department of Defense. In this pivotal role, you will engage with a team that operates across various enclaves and time zones, ensuring seamless operations of systems and software. You will deliver top-notch Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support in a large multi-enclave environment using Microsoft's Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM). Your technical expertise will be essential in meeting mission requirements and enhancing the capabilities of our customers. This position demands a technical, customer-oriented individual proficient with Microsoft tools and IT Service Management software, such as Service Now or Remedy. You will excel in capturing customer inquiries accurately and possess strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients and document resolutions. Key Responsibilities: Handle service inquiries and technical problems with professionalism. Oversee the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of SCCM/MECM Distribution Points and core servers, distinguishing user-specific issues from enterprise-wide concerns. Manage virtual application packages and PXE boot capabilities to ensure the latest approved boot image is consistently available. Create and troubleshoot task sequences and packages while utilizing MECM reporting features to generate insightful reports for government leadership. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data, analyze incidents, and develop actionable solutions for incident tickets. Tackle complex issues, document requirements, and implement effective changes within production systems. Enhance knowledge management practices within the team by training junior staff and exploring alternative training methods if necessary. Draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and update Knowledge Articles for effective knowledge transfer. Establish robust availability and capacity management solutions based on lessons learned. Lead major projects, including the deployment of new Distribution Points and significant version upgrades. Provide in-depth follow-up reports for analysis and continuous process improvement initiatives. Offer support to Deskside Support personnel facing reimaging issues and troubleshoot Distribution Point access challenges. Ensure customer requirements are met in a 24/7/365 operational environment. Mentor and train IT Operations Center personnel on best practices and documentation. Required Skills and Qualifications: Proficient in Tier 2 system administration and/or Tier 3 engineering of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM). Strong scripting and automation abilities using Microsoft PowerShell or other scripting languages. Solid experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues in an evolving environment. Expertise in server patch management methodologies and Operating System deployments via SCCM/MECM. Clear understanding of incident triage and management in high-priority situations. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team to achieve improved processes and results. Familiarity with IT Service Management tools such as Service Now or Remedy. Eligibility under DoDM 8140.03 (previously DoD 8570) for IT System Admin Intermediate certification is required. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree with 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2 years of relevant experience. Equivalent experience may substitute education level. Security Clearance: US Citizenship is required due to the nature of government contracts. TS/SCI with Polygraph is required for this position or TS/SCI with the willingness to obtain and maintain a polygraph. Preferred Qualifications: Certification related to Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), or Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate.
