The CNC Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and troubleshooting of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, ensuring they operate efficiently and accurately. This involves performing regular maintenance, diagnosing issues, and executing repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance:
Performing regular checks and maintenance on CNC machines to prevent potential problems and ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and software issues with CNC equipment.
Repairs:
Repairing or replacing faulty components, such as motors, sensors, and controllers, to restore functionality.
Component Replacement:
Replacing parts and components that are worn out or damaged.
Reading Schematics and Blueprints:
Interpreting technical drawings and schematics to understand machine functionality and diagnose issues.
Collaboration:
Working closely with production teams and other technicians to resolve issues and minimize downtime.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining detailed records of maintenance and repairs, including work orders, parts used, and troubleshooting steps.
Safety Compliance:
Ensuring that all work is performed safely and that equipment is in safe working condition.
Installation and Relocation:
Assisting with the installation and relocation of new or existing CNC machines.
Staying Updated:
Keeping up with the latest technologies and maintenance techniques for CNC machines.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, as well as knowledge of CNC machine design and operation.
Problem-Solving:
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
Troubleshooting:
Experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues.
Blueprint Reading:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Communication:
Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members and document work.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
Education:
Typically requires a high school diploma, with some positions requiring an associate's degree or equivalent experience.
Experience:
