Overview
The Surveying Technician plays a key role in assisting with land surveying duties. Your responsibilities will include a variety of technical tasks in support of surveyors, staff engineers, and supervisors. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to contribute to fulfilling projects while developing their skills in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
Perform selected survey assignments quickly and accurately.
Conduct various surveys including site surveys, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, plot plans, roadway utility plans, and subdivision plans.
Prepare and set up survey data for field crews.
Reduce field notes from raw data to base maps.
Review grade sheets and conduct post-survey field data analysis.
Complete construction layout calculations and conduct grade sheet computations.
Assist with boundary survey resolution and preparation of ALTA/ASCM land title surveys.
Engage in topographic/volume analysis and creation of construction as-built surveys and layout sketches.
Prepare metes and bounds descriptions and assist with project datum conversion/transformation.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or Surveying preferred.
0-2 years of experience in surveying.
Flexibility in daily schedule start times, particularly early mornings.
A valid driver's license and ability to maintain and operate personal and/or company vehicle.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and Land Development Desktop is a plus.
Knowledge of field survey operations and the engineering and construction industry.
Strong technical background with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Independent and critical thinking abilities.
Willingness to obtain OSHA 10 and OSHA 40 safety training.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.

The salary range for this position is $22 - $30/hr.
