Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

You'll be joining our Youth & Recreational Sports group, home to digital platforms that empower families, coaches, athletes, and administrators to participate in and manage sports more efficiently and safely. Products like SportsEngine HQ, SportsEngine Motion, SportsEngine Play, and SportsEngine Tourney offer seamless solutions for registration, payment processing, communication, video streaming, and tournament management. Our team also includes NCSI, which helps protect youth athletes by providing essential background screening and training services. Together, we're making sports more accessible and inclusive for millions of young athletes across the country.

As a Product Manager at SportsEngine, you will:

Become a subject matter expert on the products you manage and understand how they solve customer problems

Write clear, detailed user stories, technical requirements, and acceptance criteria

Be hands-on in managing project requirements, scope, and delivery timelines

Own and manage the product backlog in a Kanban/Agile environment, ensuring continuous flow and effective prioritization

Help communicate strategy, progress, and product direction to internal and external stakeholders

Demonstrate thought leadership in addressing key market problems and customer needs

Create business cases to support investment in new product capabilities

Engage with customers, industry influencers, and partners to gather competitive and market intelligence

Oversee the product launch process from concept to post-launch, ensuring smooth commercialization

Contribute to the development of market requirements and go-to-market strategies

Ensure product metrics are tracked and used to inform iteration and continuous improvement

Break down complex releases into milestones to enable consistent, incremental delivery

Learn quickly from product releases and iterate using customer feedback and usage data

Utilize JIRA to manage workflows, track progress, and report on delivery performance

Maintain and organize product documentation in Confluence

Act as the day-to-day contact for development teams, clarifying requirements and removing blockers

Support data-driven product decisions through analytics, user feedback, and team input

Participate in and lead Agile ceremonies such as backlog grooming, stand-ups, sprint planning, and demos

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Product Management, Sport Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience

2+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner in a technology-driven organization

Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal

Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

Strong judgment in managing priorities, resources, and risk

Effective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration

Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Proven experience delivering SaaS projects on time and within budget

High proficiency in JIRA (boards, filters, reporting, backlog management)

Skilled in Confluence for product documentation and internal communication

Comfortable working with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experience collaborating with engineering, QA, and design teams

Desired Characteristics:

2+ years of hands-on experience with JIRA

Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and deliver results under pressure

Strong ability to investigate and learn unfamiliar systems quickly

Familiarity or background in the sports management industry

Experience in software engineering, technical support, or systems analysis

Exposure to customer discovery practices or product analytics tools
