Job Title: Field Service Technician

Job Description

The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing installation support and technical service to customers, distributors, and other industrial customers. This role is crucial in resolving customer-affecting technical issues promptly to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. The technician will oversee installation and start-up activities of equipment, coordinate on-site equipment installation activities with the customer and installation contractor, and handle start-up, troubleshooting, debugging, and repair.

Responsibilities

Provide installation support and technical service to customers, distributors, and internal personnel.

Oversee installation and start-up activities of equipment.

Coordinate on-site equipment installation activities with the customer and installation contractor.

Handle start-up, troubleshooting, debugging, and repair of equipment.

Train appropriate plant personnel on safe operation and maintenance procedures of systems.

Ensure customer acceptance and proper system operation.

Assist engineering in pre-ship systems check-out and customer run-off preparation.

Provide feedback on product problems and corrective action to eliminate future problems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Two-year technical degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanics or equivalent combination of education and experience.

1-3 years of electrical and/or mechanical experience.

Experience with PLCs, drives, motors, pneumatics, electrical wiring activities, and ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and software.

Independent, self-motivated, and able to perform efficiently under minimal supervision.

Work Environment

This onsite role involves working on the floor and in the lab, performing various Automation/Engineering Technician activities on equipment. The position requires 30% travel to customer sites mostly throughout the US, with occasional international travel. The work environment offers an opportunity to travel extensively both domestically and overseas, with overtime offered.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
