The role involves using advanced security technologies and automation to detect threats, conduct investigations, and facilitate remediation. Collaboration across teams is essential to improve detection, response, and security efforts, developing innovative cyber defense solutions to protect both the company and our customers. The team plays a vital role in defending Microsoft's cloud platform and online services, with a focus on supporting U.S. Government partners. This role can be located anywhere in the US. Qualifications Required / Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field OR 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, software development, large-scale computing, anomaly detection, SOC detection, threat analytics, SIEM, IT, or incident response. Other Requirements : Candidates must meet security screening requirements, including: Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance. Verification of security clearance prior to employment. Successful passing of Microsoft Cloud background check every two years. Verification of U.S. citizenship via valid documents or U.S. government clearance. Passing a background check through CJIS. The typical base pay range for this role in the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year, with higher ranges in specific locations like San Francisco and New York City. Applications will be accepted until August 11, 2025. Responsibilities Detect and respond to advanced threats and suspicious activities, using intelligence to identify risks. Conduct detailed analysis and investigations on security events, implementing containment and mitigation. Prioritize security events across teams and develop operational playbooks. Collaborate with security partners to identify threats. Use security intelligence to improve programs. Participate in 24x7 shift work, on-call rotations, and escalations.
