Location:Penn Yan Outpatient Treatment Clinic
Employment Type:Full-Time
Schedule:
FT M-T 9-3:30, F 8-3:30.
FTM 3:30-5:50, T-W12 pm to 8 pm, Th 9-5
Job Summary:
FLACRA is seeking a dedicatedMental Health Therapistto provide direct mental health counseling services for adults & children aged 5–17, as well as to their families and groups. Depending on qualifications and program needs, the caseload may include both children and adults. Must-Have Qualifications
Master’s degree in Health/Human Services.
Licensed Professional in one of the following:
Creative Arts Therapist (CAT)
Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT)
Mental Health Counselor (MHC)
Licensed Psychoanalyst
Master's Level Psychologist (with supervision from a psychologist)
Master of Social Work (MSW)
Training and expertise in providing mental health treatment for both children and adults.
Valid NYS Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a Behavioral Health setting.
Previous experience as a Licensed Professional.
Skills and Competencies
Communication:Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Cultural Competency:Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse individuals, staff, and community service providers.
Behavioral Health Knowledge:Strong knowledge of the local behavioral health system and expertise in children’s mental health treatment.
Technological Skills:Comfort using tele-technologies and electronic health records (EHR).
Crisis Management:Ability to remain calm in a crisis and effectively manage multiple tasks with strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
Job Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services
Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess clients' primary and secondary diagnoses and determine treatment needs.
Provide direct therapeutic services, including individual, family, conjoint, and group therapy.
Case Management and Recordkeeping
Manage intake processes and client caseloads with independent judgment.
Maintain accurate and compliant records in alignment with applicable regulations and agency policies.
Community and Agency Engagement
Participate in community presentations and training programs as needed.
Attend general, staff, in-service, and supervisory meetings organized by the Agency or counseling staff.
Training and Support
Provide training and mentorship to new staff and interns.
In-Community and Remote Services
Demonstrate flexibility to provide in-community services if required.
Utilize tele-technologies to deliver remote counseling services when necessary.
Additional Responsibilities
Perform other duties and functions as directed by the Agency.
