We are proud to be the oldest academic children's hospital in Minnesota and the longest-running top-ranked children's hospital in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.Apply today to join our 34,000+ employees and 5,000+ system providers working to build lasting relationships with the people we serve: our patients, our communities, and each other!About this Unit:The Pediatric Med/Surg Unit has 24 Beds and we deliver care to pediatric patient populations that include cardiology, surgery, subspecialty surgeries, in addition to general Med/Surg.Schedule: This position will be working 80 hours every two weeks.The Nursing Manager manages nursing practice and patient care operations in collaboration with and accountable to the Nursing Director, This includes: nursing practice, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, finance and other operational accountabilities.ResponsibilitiesManages day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization.Plans, manages, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management.Manages equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget.Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow.Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the quality improvement initiatives.Responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations.Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures.Advocates for patient, family and staff needs.Drive improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience.In partnership the Nursing Practice and Education team assure that evidence based/best practice clinical care is being delivered.Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency.Works with Nurse Director to establish goals and objectives.Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research.Partners with interprofessional team members across the continuum of care to achieve organizational outcomes.Required QualificationsBachelors Degree in Nursing *If Bachelor's degree is not in nursing must have a Master's degree is nursing3 years nursing experience, at least two of which is in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role2 years experience in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership roleMN Registered Nurse (RN) License or ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license Upon HireBasic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)Preferred QualificationsMaster of Science NursingANCC or AONL CertificationBenefit OverviewFairview offers a generous benefit package including but not limited to medical, dental, vision plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, PTO and Sick and Safe Time, tuition reimbursement, retirement, early access to earned wages, and more!
