Job Description
We are seeking a driven and insightful Consumer Insights Manager or Associate Consumer Insights Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping our new product launches and expanding our brand within the creative project-making space. In this role, you will bring our strategic product research agenda to live, translating consumer passion and needs into innovative product concepts and enhanced consumer experiences. Partnering closely with product managers and cross-functional teams, you will design, conduct, and analyze research, transforming insights into strategies that advance our products and the consumer experience.
You will lead and execute quantitative (e.g., category trend analysis, attitude and usage studies, concept testing, syndicated data analysis) and qualitative (e.g., IDIs, panel communities, online bulletin boards, focus groups, ethnographies) research, designing the right study for the question at hand. The ideal candidate will have both client-side and vendor/supplier-side experience, with a focus on product innovation.
Responsibilities
Design and execute adhoc research projects, quant or qual, from start to finish, including refining and clarifying stakeholder research requests, designing studies, developing questionnaires or discussion guides, programming surveys or screeners, fielding surveys or recruiting for qualitative studies using internal or third-party sample, analyzing data, creating final reports, and aligning teams on recommendations
Conduct qualitative research, including IDIs, panel communities, online bulletin boards, focus groups, and ethnographies
Analyze large survey-based datasets and conduct higher-level analysis, including driver analysis
Provide design, execution, and analysis support to research projects your Consumer Insights teammates are leading
Develop expertise in our existing body of research, extracting key learnings to answer questions and ensure new studies speak to existing insights
Employ team, industry, and research-on-research best practices in your work
Ensure stakeholder buy-in, taking care that stakeholders have a stake in, digest, and know how to apply research findings
Partner with cross-functional teams, using insights to drive alignment, action, and win-win outcomes
This is a hands-on role, with potential to manage vendors
Qualifications: Qualifications
5+ years of consumer insights experience in a corporate environment, on the research supplier side as well as client side
Deep experience designing and executing quantitative or qualitative research studies from start to finish
Experience analyzing large survey-based datasets and conducting analysis using SPSS
Skilled at insight generation and synthesis across studies
Knowledge of and adherence to research best practices
Detail-oriented; ensures reporting is accurate and put into appropriate context
Strong project management skills; ability to juggle multiple projects at one time and self-prioritize workload
Excellent communicator and cross-functional relationship builder
Team player who prioritizes team and business needs
Exceptional self-management skills and high EQ
Entrepreneurial spirit, with passion for process improvement
Experience managing vendors a plus
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the social sciences; advanced degree is a plus
