Location: Redondo Beach, CA 90278 Type: Full-Time | 12-Month Contract Schedule: Weekends | 9x80 Starting Pay: $38-48/hour Where Innovation Meets Mission Success PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Mechanical Technician (Level 3) to support the Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD)an industry leader delivering satellites, payload capabilities, and advanced aerospace solutions for national security, military, and civil missions. You'll play a key role in building and testing spacecraft mechanical systems that push the boundaries of what's possible. What You'll Do: Handle delicate flight hardware with proper ESD and contamination control best practices. Perform mechanical assembly using space flight drawings and process documents. Execute bonding operations with adhesives for thermal, electrical, and mechanical connections. Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing teams, and stakeholders to ensure quality and efficiency. Provide feedback to improve producibility and process documentation. Use calibrated tools and shelf-life materials to perform bonding, drilling, torquing, and related assembly tasks. Work in high bays and cleanroom environments. Communicate status and updates to supervisors using MS Office tools. Support off-hours, weekend, and travel assignments when required. Required Qualifications: Knowledge of mechanical assembly methods using blueprints, engineering drawings, or written instructions. Experience using MS Office tools and relevant software. Proven ability to follow procedures and work effectively in a team environment. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure. Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance. This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in mechanical manufacturing, integration, and test. Experience working on space flight hardware. Experience with composite flight hardware assembly. Ability to work second shift if needed.
