Doeren Mayhew is seeking a

Senior Manager

to work in our

Business Advisory Group

headquartered in

Houston, Texas.

The ideal candidate would have 3 plus years of public accounting experience and at least 6 years total experience in public accounting and/or industry. We offer cutting-edge technology, competitive compensation and benefits, opportunities for professional development, and career advancement.

Responsibilities:

Manage engagement team members to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and be a resource for team members. Provide guidance/mentorship to associates and assist them in developing technical skills. Maintain timely and accurate communication with team and clients to manage expectations, deadlines and deliverables. Build and maintain client relationships and ensure client needs are being met. Advise and support the preparation of financial reports including financial statements, cash-flow statements, budgets, projections, and dashboard reports. Analyze and reconcile financial accounts, support general ledger management, provide cash-flow analysis and report on budget variances. Assist clients in the development of accounting best practices, monthly closing procedures and checklists Provide QuickBooks and various other accounting software support and training to clients in a variety of industries. Participate in special projects such as strategic planning, exit planning, systems optimization, organizational design, etc. Utilize analytical and decision-making skills to solve complex technical issues. Seek opportunities to participate in practice development to build network of referral sources. Present new ideas and improvements for ways of performing tasks in order to achieve firm and departmental goals.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field CPA License required 3+ years of public accounting experience 6+ years total accounting experience – can be public or industry or combination Proficient in QuickBooks, other accounting software, and MS Excel and good at learning new software Strong attention to detail Excellent oral and written communication skills Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple projects/clients and deadlines Demonstrated leadership qualities Ability to take initiative
