About the Division The Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Division (MCAH) maintains partnerships with state, federal, and local agencies, providing programs and initiatives to serve diverse populations. Most programs are funded by the Title V Block Grant. The Black Infant Health program aims to reduce disparities in Black maternal and infant health.
Position Overview The Nurse Consultant III (Specialist) works under the general direction of the Health Program Manager II, providing complex nursing consultation and technical assistance for BIH and other Title V programs. The role involves leadership, oversight, and evaluation of program compliance and effectiveness.
Work Conditions This position may offer telework options, subject to departmental policies. Travel may be required, with expenses reimbursed according to regulations. Candidates must reside in California prior to appointment.

Desirable Qualifications
Ability to provide culturally sensitive program support and collaborate with the Health Equity Section.
Experience in developing and implementing program standards.
Skills in developing tools and resources for program effectiveness and quality improvement.
Experience monitoring birth outcomes and addressing health inequities.
Ability to organize training and support public health performance monitoring.
Support to a statewide team implementing the Black Infant Health model.
