Overview

Presbyterian is seeking a

Medical Assistant

to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients in an

Outpatient Clinic . Common responsibilities include preparing the patient for the visit, maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting the provider with treatments and procedures, medication administration, support for clerical functions to include scheduling, referrals, authorization and in-basket support with the EMR. Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 12 months of hire Prior healthcare experience preferred. BLS required at time of hire. High School Diploma or GED Responsibilities

Responsible for performing medical assistant procedures after completion of competency within organizations MA scope of work, under the supervision of a provider and PHS policy. Prepares patient for rooming and exam Prepares and administers medications and immunizations Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes Collects and prepares laboratory specimens Provides basic education to patients Sets up aseptic and sterile procedures Performs other duties as required
