Description

The Department of Pathology is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician I to perform phlebotomy/specimen collection, and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy: labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies. This position is 50 %

time, Saturday and Sunday, 2nd shift from 1300-2330, with rotating holidays.

Duties to include:

• Perform phlebotomy draws.

• Perform computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required.

• Order, receive, and distribute supplies.

• Respond to basic phlebotomy inquiries and otherwise represent assigned and related work areas.

Qualifications

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

• High school graduation or equivalent.

Special Qualifications (if appropriate):

• Previous public contact/customer service experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience is desirable. Minimum 6 months previous experience working in a healthcare setting is desirable. Basic computer skills are desirable. Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment is desirable. Previous patient contact experience is desirable. Position and Application details:
