Purpose of Position
Assist Providers with office procedures and examinations.
Description 1. Manages patient flow for providers. Determines urgency and priority of walk in and add on patients, patient consults, etc. under the direction of clinician. 2. Manages clinician's daily schedule to expedite care and maximize clinical time. 3. Ensures telephone calls are triaged appropriately and providers receive necessary information. 4. Advocates for patients as appropriate and assists in resolving patients concerns. 5. Greets and assists patients into exam areas. Obtains relevant information, takes vital signs and inputs pertinent clinical information into the medical records. Prepares for exams and procedures according to department protocol. Administers injections per Provider orders. 6. Assists providers with clinical procedures and/or additional tests specific to the department. May advise patient of preparation required for exam or additional testing specific to the department and keeps patients informed of visit status, unforeseen delays and other relevant information. 7. Ensures the exam rooms are prepared and/or maintained. Cleans and/or maintains supplies and equipment. 8. Remove calls from prescription line and prepare prescription refill requests for providers as needed. 9. Provides clerical/office support as needed. 10. Maintain accurate/timely documentation. 11. Supports and documents patient compliance for AQC and MU as requested. Ensures that proper testing has been ordered for the patients and completed by the patient in order to ensure that the provider meets the reporting guidelines. 12. Performs other work related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications • Ability to read, write and communicate in English • High School Diploma or GED • Nationally Certified Medical Assistant • Experience with current office technology and computer office applications • Current Basic Life Support Certification required and must maintain certification • Successful passage of a Medical Terminology course or successful passage of the CCH Medical Terminology challenge exam
