is looking for a
Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor
to join our team and support construction cost services for our clients. The ideal candidate will be driven and promote our purpose and values. Responsibilities: Advising clients on strategies, managing prequalification of vendors, assessing proposals, bids, and bid leveling documents, making final recommendations to the client, attending & chairing bid interviews, and managing the appointment process. Managing estimating services for full projects by developing project estimates (relating to construction, fees, direct work, and other costs), reviewing estimates prepared by junior team members, presenting estimates to clients, providing value engineering recommendations and risk assessments, and reviewing estimates using benchmark data from other projects. Managing cost reporting by establishing reporting schedules, reviewing & presenting cost reports and forecasts, reviewing project budgets & spend forecasts with clients, developing & maintaining a commercial risk register, and hosting periodic meetings with project teams & vendors. Managing cost control processes by reviewing payment applications, liaising with project managers on contractor entitlements, reviewing change order requests from vendors, and using dispute prevention/management/resolution procedures to handle payment requisitions, change orders, and contractual disputes. Monitoring invoicing processes. Benchmarking performance against other successful projects. Overseeing all aspects of final accounting, post-contract audits, and account close-outs. Conducting post-contract reviews with clients to establish lessons learned and applying these to create training manuals. Developing procedures for project handovers. Performing all duties using Bid Analysis Sheets, Change Control Forms, Cost Estimating Software, and Take-off Software. Adhering to SOX control responsibilities where applicable. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field. Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a cost management role within the construction industry. RICS accreditation or working towards it is valuable. Experience supporting cost management on medium to large construction projects. Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred. Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as procurement routes, value management, and value engineering. Strong communication skills.
