Are you driven by a need to find the truth? Producers report the original content that is the backbone of our news operations. WSB-TV is in search of a writer/producer who consistently crafts in-depth, fast-paced, memorable stories. The successful candidate must have an understanding of coverage on all platforms and is expected to help generate enterprise story ideas. Collaboration with others is essential, and candidates should be open to feedback and eager to grow in their role. Candidates should have at least 2 years of producing experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Communicates with reporters and the content center to develop storytelling within broadcast Writes for broadcast, including intros and tags, creating cohesive storytelling Works with the Executive Producer and Managing Editor to execute daily newscasts Prioritizes assignments effectively Participates in daily editorial meetings Commands control in the control room by communicating a clear vision to the production team, reporters, and anchors Builds proactive relationships with all team members, including anchors and meteorologists Understands and executes station research Assists in producing special projects and other station content Performs other duties as assigned Balances strong journalistic skills with the ability to execute action plans and creative vision to support compelling show delivery Recognizes stories with potential and develops them into broadcast content Scours social media for story ideas and makes calls to verify information Exhibits excellent time-management skills, prioritizing, multitasking, and working under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment Minimum Qualifications Prior news management experience is a plus Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Must be thoroughly professional in all aspects of journalism Preferred Qualifications A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in local TV news is preferred Bachelor's degree in Journalism or Communications from a four-year college or university is preferred About Cox Media Group CMG Media Corporation (d/b/a Cox Media Group) is an industry-leading media company with award-winning content and a talented team.
