Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a highly skilled Patent Litigation Associate with 3+ years of experience to join its team in San Diego or San Francisco. The ideal candidate will have experience handling patent litigation matters in district court and/or before the International Trade Commission (ITC). A background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field is preferred. The role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile patent cases while collaborating with a dynamic team to deliver results for clients. Location: Duties: Prepare and try patent matters, including Markman hearings Conduct technical analysis of products and patents Manage discovery preparation and implementation Work with experts to support patent litigation cases Conduct and defend depositions in patent litigation matters Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents Collaborate with team members to develop and execute litigation strategies Engage with clients to provide professional and timely legal counsel Requirements: 3+ years of patent litigation experience Experience in district court and/or before the International Trade Commission (ITC) A technology background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field preferred Admission to the California State Bar or eligible for admission Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Professionalism and ability to engage effectively with clients Education: JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school Certifications: Admitted to or eligible for admission in California Skills: Patent litigation experience in district court and/or ITC Strong technical analysis and understanding of patent law Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills Ability to manage complex litigation matters and interact with clients Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively Collaborative mindset with the ability to work in team settings Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage Opportunities for career development and growth
