Medical Assistant

to join our team. The Medical Assistant will assist our healthcare practitioners in delivering exceptional patient care. This role involves a variety of tasks, including maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, and performing essential medical procedures. Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring they are neat and clean. Escort patients into exam rooms and prepare them for physician visits. Record patients' medical histories and vital signs accurately in medical records. Administer medications as directed by a physician. Clearly explain treatment procedures and other instructions to patients. Dispose of waste materials properly in Biohazard or SHARPS containers. Coordinate and prioritize tasks in partnership with the provider and Facilities Manager. Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment effectively. Perform clerical tasks in a medical setting. Maintain an accurate inventory of medications for patients and procedure areas. May operate diagnostic equipment or perform routine tests. Clean and sterilize medical equipment following sterile technique principles. Prepare necessary pre-screening for procedures and surgical consultations. Fit and instruct patients on the proper use of durable medical equipment (DME). Conduct audits on relevant tasks as required. Perform other assigned duties to support patient care. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required; certification preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff. Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities. In-depth knowledge of medical practices and administrative processes. Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Familiar with diagnostic and sterilization equipment. Knowledge of patient care standards and examination procedures. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is strongly preferred. Physical Requirements: This role involves physical demands including standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and will engage in repetitive motion for computer use. Visual capabilities include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
